It was uncommonly warm for the first day of March in the Chicago area so I decided that I needed to be out and about around town on my Flux EM1 to take advantage of the awesome weather.

A few of you have reached out to me over the winter months to inquire if I have been riding my Flux EM1. I think some of you were thinking that I would stop riding entirely over the winter. That has not been the case.

As I motored into downtown Elmhurst, I remembered the fast, smooth acceleration and quiet operation that I experienced on my test drive. Only this time, I was in “my hood”, cruising around downtown Elmhurst. I was pretty damn proud to have completed my research and journey to solve my short distance transportation needs, but also that I did so in an economical, and ecologically friendly manner. 

After taking a test ride, I had to admit it, I was hooked and decided right then and there that my scooter purchase would be an electric scooter, and specifically a Flux EM1.

Since I had never really driven a scooter, let alone planned on owning one, I decided the next logical step was to enroll in a class.

I should start by defining what I mean by “scooter” as well as discuss the three different classifications of 2-wheel motor vehicles in Illinois.
